  • Like a good neighbor

    October 15th, 2024

    What makes a good neighbor?

I just heard this quote a few minutes ago and it applies here, “A harmless man is not a good man. A good man is a very dangerous man who has that under voluntary control” Jordan Peterson. A good neighbor is absolutely your ally by choice and not by nature of their own goodness.

  • Grown up

    October 11th, 2024

When was the first time you really felt like a grown up (if ever)?

A traumatic experience at five made me mature too quickly, though I’ve blocked it out. Others remember it, but I’ve suppressed the memory. I obviously remember the acts because I tried to reenact them. By age seven, I was shopping for my mom and serving as her assistant, a role she doesn’t recall. Her ability to forget hurt me. Even now, I dislike grocery shopping. Arranging her last rites and handling her belongings also made me feel prematurely grown. To compensate for missing out on childhood, I played with Barbies until 10, despite peers saying it was too old. I almost started collecting dolls but decided to make myself one in my early 20s.

My divorce and solitude made me acknowledge my childish behavior’s role in its demise. My childhood defined me; I left a lasting impression on a young boy, who recalled me showcasing both childlike and mature qualities. We are engaged. I was raised to be grown, and to stay in a place of a child. I am not complaining. I am grateful I had an upbringing way better than most. Just don’t remember being a kid. I have always feel in some sense grown.

  • A million dollars

    October 10th, 2024

If you had a million dollars to give away, who would you give it to?

Although it’s almost selfish, I would give it to my fiancé since he would use it to take care of me.

What’s something you would attempt if you were guaranteed not to fail.

More school sounds insane, doesn’t it? Does avoiding failure include applying for scholarships and grants? I’d love to learn and retain more information. If I can learn, I can do; it would unlock endless opportunities.

What was the hardest personal goal you’ve set for yourself?

The most challenging personal goal I’ve set is improving myself. This required changes in my behavior and life perspective. I had to accept that I couldn’t have children and that motherhood isn’t the sole reason for living. There are other life purposes, and I had to find them. Purpose can be discovered after 40.

  • Hard life lessons

    September 16th, 2024

Share a lesson you wish you had learned earlier in life.

    1. My parents telling me to pay attention in school was a real thing.
    2. Men often state their intentions upfront. Believe them.
    3. Your mom won’t be here forever.
    4. Sometimes, you can be your own worst enemy.
    5. Dogs are better than cats 🙂
    6. Racism isn’t going to improve.
    7. God word is life.
    8. People’s opinions do not matter.
    9. Get the facts
    10. No one has your best interest in mind, no one.
    11. Trust your intuition. (Do you know that feeling in your gut? I am not talking about the butterflies, the stomach one, that one! )
